Juliette Caton (CMT)

Juliette is a Certified Master Teacher for Estill International. Having performed professionally for over twenty years, Juliette has coached performing artists for over 10 years and is Director of Schools at School Of The Arts (SOTA) which she founded in 2005.

Juliette also delivers acting and voice coaching for the film, television and theatre industry and is currently acting and voice coach on the new Kiera Knightley movie Tell Me To Go, which has been adapted from the Kazuo Ishigo novel.

Coaching Biography

• Passionate about the application of the Estill Voice Training Juliette combines this method with Brain Gym Exercises in the training of performing artists and was invited to deliver a paper at the Estill World Voice Symposium 2007 in Denmark about this work.
• Juliette was Head of Voice at Reading Theatre College for 7 years and co-founded Reading Voice Clinic based in 2005. Working with a Laryngologist and Speech Therapist, the team work to give multi-disciplinary diagnosis, assessment and care to people with potentially damaged voices.
• Juliette has valued experience working with transexual voices guiding a healthy vocal transition which reflects the clients persona and character.
• Juliette also enjoys teaching a wide variety of private voice clients in Reading, Berkshire.

Performance Biography

Juliette worked professionally as an actress from the age of 11 and is best known for creating the lead role of Bertrande de Rols, playing opposite Iain Glen, in the original West End cast of Martin Guerre, produced by Cameron Mackintosh (Prince Edward Theatre) which won the 1996 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Musical.

Other musical theatre roles include Catherine in a specially revised version of Pippin at the Bridewell and a Stephen Schwartz revue Schwartz It All About? (Finborough Theatre). Juliette also had the privilege of creating the role of Virginia opposite Steve Balsamo in the world premiere of Eric Wolfson’s Poe at Abbey Road Recording Studios and playing opposite Bertie Carvel and Razza Jaffrey in a gala performance Victory at the Donmar Warehouse.

Juliette’s acting theatre credits include Titania in A Misummer Night’s Dream (Derby Playhouse), Kelly in Dummy Run, a one woman play (Orange Tree), Miranda in The Tempest (Edinburgh) and a hugely successful run as Klara in Wedekind’s lost play Musik (Theatre Royal, Plymouth).

On television, Juliette played Alicia in the costume drama Lady Audley’s Secret (Carlton), Helene in the epic series Monsignor Renard with the late John Thaw (Carlton), Esme in the popular Shine On Harvey Moon (Witzend) and Fern in the thriller Murder In Mind (BBC Screen One) with Charlotte Rampling. She played Contessina D’Medici in Seasons Of Giants (C4) about the life of artist Michealangelo and Godith in the medieval series Brother Cadfael with Derek Jacobi (ITV).

Juliette’s film career began when she was directed by Martin Scorsese as Christ’s Guardian Angel in the controversial The Last Temptation Of Christ. She went on to star opposite Charlie Sheen in the adventure epic Courage Mountain, produced by Michael Douglas. Later, Juliette, played Ali in Small Time Obsession directed by Piotr Skopiak and Blanche in Two Nudes Bathing – a Cannes Film Festival award winner, written and directed by John Boorman.
