Rachel Slater (CMT)

Rachel originally trained in classical voice and sang with the ‘Midlands Chorale’. She was also a member of ‘The National Youth Choir of Great Britain’ performing concerts in many of the UK’s most prestigious venues as well as representing the UK on a world tour.

Rachel then took a change of direction in her voice training to compliment her dance skills, for a career in musical theatre, and attended the Doreen Bird College. Since leaving college she has had a varied career in musical theatre, TV and repertoire theatre. On stage she has played the lead roles in musicals such as Starlight Express and The Rocky Horror Show, as well as touring in Singin’ in the Rain, Smokey Joe’s Cafe, Copacabana and other professional musical shows.

Rachel co-produces and performs with Musicals in Motion. She is also teaching at some of London’s finest performing arts colleges and establishments. She currently teaches private singing lessons to actors at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, as well as from her studio at home in Woodford Green.

In 2006 Rachel began learning about Estill Voice Training for her own performance skills, but soon found it an invaluable teaching tool and in 2008 began her journey on the Reeve & Møller Certification Pathway™ and in August 2009 Rachel qualified as a Certified Master Teacher.
