The Pathway
A Certified Master Teacher (CMT) is someone who has demonstrated the ability to teach Estill Voice Training to individuals and small groups. A CMT is a representative of Estill International and is able to teach Estill Voice Training in their private studio or classroom. To become a CMT you need to pass an examination set by Estill International. This examination is split into two separate phases. Our unique Pathway to becoming a CMT has six steps. To start on the Pathway contact either Klaus or Matthew to arrange your initial consultation. You need to attend Level One and Level Two courses before starting the Reeve & Møller Certification Pathway™. Step 1: Initial ConsultationDuring your initial consultation Klaus or Matthew will work with you to establish your current level of competency and devise a personal action plan. We will help you to use the Estill Voiceprint software, answer any questions you have on the content of the CMT examination, and work on your technique for Figures for Voice™ and voice quality practice. We may also suggest that you repeat Level One and Level Two, and you may want to consider the option of our Course Passport, but this is not obligatory. Step 2: Personal Preparation and Self-DevelopmentWhilst studying on the Pathway your personal preparation and self-development is essential for success in the CMT examination. As a Pathway Candidate you receive a monthly consultation with Klaus Møller or Matthew Reeve and are invited to attend Associate Study Days that take place across Europe. As well as learning about Estill Voice Training, you will need to demonstrate proficiency in Figures for Voice™ and the six voice qualities, and study vocal anatomy, physiology and acoustics. To help prepare for Phase One of the CMT examination, you need access to a computer running the Estill Voiceprint software so you can practice Figures for Voice™ and the six voice qualities. Depending on your current level of competency you may also benefit from additional personal mentoring and tutorials. Online tutorials and feedback on your progress are also available. Step 3: Vocal Anatomy and Acoustics WorkshopOur Vocal Anatomy and Acoustics Workshop focuses on the dynamic nature of voice production, providing an opportunity to examine the vocal anatomy and physiology outlined in Level One and Level Two in greater detail. This will help prepare you for Phase One of the CMT examination. The Workshop explores the breathing apparatus and structures of the vocal tract, as well as exploring key concepts such as the Bernoulli Effect, Dynamical Systems Theory and the Power-Source-Filter Model. Step 4: Phase One of the CMT ExaminationPhase One of the CMT examination has two parts: a written exam and a Voiceprint exam. The written exam covers basic anatomy, physiology, key concepts and common voice problems. In the Voiceprint exam you will have to demonstrate proficiency in Figures for Voice™ and the six voice qualities. Step 5: Estill Voice Model Pedagogy WorkshopThe focus of our Pathway now moves towards developing your teaching and communication skills and fluency in using Estill Voice Training. Our Estill Voice Model Pedagogy Workshop is a challenging two-day course specifically for those following the Pathway with us. The Workshop explores integrating Estill Voice Training into your own teaching practice and applying Estill Voice Training to different genres. It will help you prepare for completing Phase Two of the CMT examination. Step 6: Phase Two of the CMT ExaminationPhase Two of the CMT examination requires you to demonstrate your ability to teach all the concepts, Figures for Voice™ and voice qualities of Estill Voice Training. We will assess your ability to present, demonstrate, teach and answer questions on all parts of Estill Voice Training. © 2007-2010 Klaus Møller and Matthew Reeve | Terms | Contact |
