Why did you start studying?

“I had always been interested in learning about the different vocal methods and techniques used in classical singing, in musical theatre and contemporary music. I found that Estill Voice Training provided me with a comprehensive voice model, which I could use both personally and in my teaching.”

What are you doing now?

“I am using the method in my private teaching as well as being responsible for embedding the technique into the Performing Arts Curriculum at Motherwell College, which has recently been recognised as the first European Estill International Educational Affiliate (EA).”

Did you hit any problems?

“Finding the time within a busy work schedule to undertake the huge amount of studying and practise required but well worth it in the end!”

What’s your top tip?

“Practice makes perfect!”

Gillian successfully completed the Pathway in October 2006 and became a Certified Master Teacher. She is currently Curriculum Leader for Performing Arts at Motherwell College.
