Rachel's journey on the CMT Pathway
Why did you start studying?“I started studying Estill Voice Training to improve the existing knowledge I had of how my instrument worked. I also wanted to explain vocal technique and solve vocal problems for my pupils in a way that they would understand and remember, rather than using vague imagery techniques.” What are you doing now?“I am actually part way through my course to become a CMT. The flexibility of the Pathway has allowed me to postpone taking the exams as I have had many singing commitments recently.” Did you hit any problems?“The only problem I have encountered is actually taking in and digesting all the information given on the Level One and Level Two courses. There is so much to learn that the suggestion of taking the courses more than once is really useful!” What’s your top tip?“My top tip is simple. Once you have understood the information, use it as often as possible. Incorporate it into your own practice sessions and lessons with your pupils. This way, the knowledge remains at the forefront of your mind and you are therefore more likely to remember it.” ![]() Rachel is current on the Reeve & Møller Certification Pathway preparing for the Phase One of the Certified Master Teacher Examination. © 2007-2010 Klaus Møller and Matthew Reeve | Terms | Contact |
